Social Engagement Program

“In hierarchies, social engagement is optional; in the Adaptive model, it is required.” – Christopher Creel. Our aim here is to help students gain a sense of what issues they care about in the world and how they want to engage with those issues on a political, community, or personal level.

Silence Studio

The Silence Studio will be a spacious, carpeted area open at the center, and furnished only with pillows and mats. Surrounding walls will be adorned with photos, paintings and physical object representing each human spiritual expression. The Silence studio will be an area for the students to gather and contemplate the expression of the human spirit within each one of us. There will be presentations by guest speakers from different spiritual paths and traditions. The Silence Studio will also be a place where students or staff can go anytime to be still, reflect and recharge.

Self-Organizing Systems

Led by Neil Takemoto and Bonnie Roy, students work to develop the tools of self-organization to help them grow in group self-awareness, understand their own aspirations and unique contribution, and practice decision making through truly democratic and collectively designed methods.

Results-Based Leadership Program

Racial Literacy Social Justice Program

Designed in partnership with Dr. Cindy Acker and Sarah McArthur LeValley, we begin from a place of fostering self-awareness and compassion within the students before exploring how our actions can contribute to disrupting systemic racism in our world.
